There are so many definitions that could be given to the genre of pop music ; so many new iterations of this music genre are released every day that any definition may become obsolete as we write it. In our fortieth playlist, we navigate the realms of alternative pop, those that spills over that of electronic, trap, or, in a completely different register, French pop music.

In the first part of this playlist, violins take center stage, both in the latest single by RAEGAN and one of the standout singles by prodigy Sofia Isella, whose track “Us And Pigs” is a modern reinterpretation of the main theme from Margaret Atwood’s work, “The Handmaid’s Tale”. Later on, we get to listen to the sensitive expressions of Nuit Oceān, the retro-futuristic ballad enriched with vocoder by Vaarwell, and one of the latest tracks by the American artist liarbird, who, over trap-inspired rhythms, lets their ethereal voice soar, offering a stark contrast with the rest of the song. We end our playlist with two French songs by our dear Rose Kid and Delayre, before delving into introspective electro-pop with Beat Beat. Enjoy the music!
