We often say it on the magazine : alternative pop knows no boundaries. It can take on different shapes, musically speaking, and the 12 tracks that make up our playlist number 36 just keep proving it! We start by delving into the mystical and sacred abysses of jeanne pas jeanne in the introduction, before shifting to French pop songs with artists like CHERI, Joanna, Fhin, Anna Majidson, and Sabrina Bellaouel. These tracks are dominated by slightly robotic and female voices and culminate with the excellent Museau and her song “La Horde”, which is one of our favorite tracks from her debut album “Royal Câlin”. We close off this playlist with a final quarter focused on experimental alternative pop, featuring some of the leading artists of the genre, like Tei Shi, Cosette, and Caroline Polachek.
