Yesterday we made you listen to an adaptation of one of the oldest music compositions in the world and which was discovered in Syria. Today we stay in the oriental music realm and we dive deep in Symo Reyn’s latest EP released last Friday, an EP that we immediately fell in love with from the very first track, as it is so full of novelty and casts a new light on electro-organic music.

Symo Reyn plays a very special type of oriental zither, called the qanoûn. Its sounds are quite difficult to describe, yet they arise and settles on melodies of various intensities, and intertwine beautifully with Symo Reyn’s electronic tempos ; his tracks are absolutely ethereal and will definitely trigger your 5 senses. We have to issue an “honorable mention” for the sole 100% acoustic track which is certainly the most relaxing one out of the whole EP : we are talking about “Silver River”, which we would like to see last even longer. Here’s to whose who like innovative approaches to music !

Symo Reyn is to be found on all streaming platforms. You can also follow him on Instagram !
